The centre provides a comprehensive breast cancer screening programme. The centre provides X-ray mammography facilities using CR facilities. In addition, high resolution sonomammography and MR mammography using VIBRANT technology are also routinely performed, which are useful for detection of very small cancers and multiple cancerous areas in breast, especially in younger and high risk women.
To detect cancer in its early stages, screening programmes have been devised. The cancer screening programme is meant for people who do not have any signs or symptoms of cancer and/or people who are at “high risk” of developing cancer. The aim is to detect unsuspected cancer at a time when cure is still possible.
