Mammography

A mammography scan is a High-Resolution X-Ray of the breasts. It is done with the intention of early detection of breast cancer. Many studies done all over the world have shown time and again that breast cancer has a much better survival rate if detected early. It is a simple procedure and requires no special preparation.

Advise : Every woman above the age of 40 years should get an X-Ray mammogram done at least once every two years. The frequency may vary depending on the woman's family history and other factors.

This advise stands good even if you cannot feel any lump in the breast. Learning self breast examination would also be emphasised.
