FAQs

Can it detect tumors or bone lesions?

Yes. CT can demonstrate bone destruction, abnormal bone architecture, and certain tumors or masses involving the skull base and upper cervical spine. Contrast can provide additional information about associated soft-tissue involvement.

Can CECT CV Junction detect infection?

Yes. CT can demonstrate bone erosion and other changes associated with infection. When intravenous contrast is used, it can also help identify adjacent collections or soft-tissue involvement, including epidural or paraspinal collections in selected cases.

Is CECT CV Junction useful after surgery?

Yes. CT may be useful for evaluating postoperative anatomy, hardware, bony changes, or selected postoperative complications, depending on the clinical indication.

Should I inform the radiology team about kidney disease or previous contrast reactions?

Yes. Inform the medical team about kidney disease, previous reactions to iodinated contrast, allergies, pregnancy, diabetes, thyroid conditions, medications, and other relevant medical conditions before contrast administration.
