What is a LDL CHOLESTEROL DIRECT?

LDL Cholesterol Direct is a blood test that measures the amount of low-density lipoprotein, or “bad” cholesterol, directly in the blood. It is needed to assess the risk of heart and blood vessel disease, especially when triglyceride levels are high or a standard cholesterol calculation may not be accurate, and to monitor the effect of treatment or lifestyle changes.
