What is a VARICELLA ZOSTER VIRUS (VZV) IgM Antibody?

Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) IgM Antibody is a blood test that checks for IgM antibodies produced by the body in response to a recent or current varicella zoster infection. It is done to help diagnose active chickenpox or shingles, especially when symptoms are unusual or when confirmation is needed.
