  • TMT
  • Treadmill test (TMT) or exercise stress test is one of the commonest forms of stress tests for diagnostic evaluation of  coronary artery disease. The cardiac stress test is done with heart stimulation, either by exercise on a treadmill. The level of mechanical stress is progressively increased by adjusting the difficulty (steepness of the slope) and speed. The test administrator or attending physician examines the symptoms and blood response. The TMT machine installed at Mahajan Imaging uses special algorithms and measures multiple risk factors which can be reported simultaneously, giving a comprehensive view of the risk, and also can assess the risk of Sudden Cardiac Death, which is now is a very common phenomenon across the world.

  • ECG
  • ECG is a simple, painless test that records the heart's electrical activity. To understand this test, it helps to understand how the heart works. With each heartbeat, an electrical signal spreads from the top of the heart to the bottom. As it travels, the signal causes the heart to contract and pump blood. The process repeats with each new heartbeat.

  • Holter
  • A Holter monitor is a machine that continuously records the heart's rhythms. The monitor is worn for 24 to 48 hours during normal activity. When a person has a Holter monitor study, they wear the monitoring device for either 24 or 48 hours, and the ECG recorded during this time is subsequently analysed for any cardiac arrhythmias that might have occurred during the monitoring period, as well as for any signs of cardiac ischemia. The Holter monitor study is very effective in diagnosing cardiac arrhythmias, as long as they occur with sufficient frequency. The test is very safe.

  • 24 Hours Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring(ABPM)
  • Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) takes numerous readings of your blood pressure over a 24-hour period or longer. It provides accurate and reliable information and can give you and your doctor a truer picture of your blood pressure than occasional visits and readings taken at your doctor's office. Most ambulatory blood pressure monitors use either what's called an ausculatory method or an oscillomtetric method. Blood pressure sounds are determined by the ausculatory method that uses microphones under the blood pressure cuff. The oscillometric method involves measuring movement of the blood after closing off the brachial artery, the main artery that runs from the shoulder down to the elbow.

Note: ABPM is available only at Mahajan Imaging, Defence Colony
